Giving Opportunities

At the Duke Catholic Center, there are many different ways to support the operations of the church with your treasure.  Currently, all unrestricted gifts are used to support programs and activities of the student center in this current year.  You may choose to restrict your gift for a specific program, item or fund.   

Duke Catholic Center “Wish List”

The Duke Catholic Center is grateful for your generosity as its primary source of revenue.  Your gifts provide funding for all programs, supplies and personnel.  Here are just a few items that we are looking to have funded during the 2011-2012 year.  If you have interest in talking more about how your gift can be used to provide an opportunity for Duke students to develop their Catholic faith on campus, please call Michelle Barreto, (919) 668-1472.

  • New Liturgical Vestments
    • $400 each and we need 4 (different season colors)
  • Beach Weekend Retreat Sponsor
    • $12,000 (once a year)
  • Awakening Retreat Sponsors
    • $16,000 for each of the fall and spring retreats
    • $160 cost per person – 100 students will attend each semester
    • $32,000 – full cost of both retreats
  • Mission trip to Costa Rica
    • $10,000 sponsorship for 14 students
  • Digital Camera & Video Camera
    • $300 & $400 respectively
  • New Altar for the FA House Chapel
    • $4,000
  • Catholic Life Speaker Series
    • $4,000 per semester
  • Sponsor Materials for One Small Group
    • $200 (One semester for group of 8)
  • Sponsor Materials for Small Groups
    • $1,000 (One semester for 5 groups of 8)
  • Sponsor Crucifixes for RCIA
    • $500 ($40/ea, ~7-12 people/yr)
  • Sponsor Crucifixes for Confirmation
    • $500 ($40/ea, ~5-15 people/yr)
  • Sponsor Crucifixes for Graduates
    • $1,000 ($10/ea, 50 grads 2010)
  • Sound System in Falcone Arena House
    • $7,000
  • 40 chairs for Falcone Arena House 
    • $5,000
